I'm like disco music: Ever since my birth in the 70's everyone's kinda been wishing that I would go away - yet every once in a while, when you least expect it, I will be reappear from nowhere to haunt and traumatize your unprepared mind.

ps. Welcome back Lizzie! (although, honestly, I barely knew that you'd been gone... I remember reading about some love troubles earlier in the summer though.)

hmm.. not trying to rain on your parade, Liz, but I hope you didn't spend too much.. We haven't sold a 4:3 aspect ratio TV in about 3 years now. The HDTV standard is going to push them aside one day soon. Mitsubishi doesn't even make them anymore (which might explain why we haven't sold any.)

Well at the very least its ugly!!
(I know Lizz has to contrast herself from her surroundings.)
                  :P

Theres nothing to do about ugly television sets, btw. Except live without them. The newer, the uglier, apparently (can anyone prove me wrong?).
Plastic galore. Grey, cheap plastic, mostly. Even the very expensive new phillips or sony. Grey ugly cheap looking plastic.

Until I can get a discrete and noiseless projector, Im keping my
Beovision 9802 alikelooking 7802 - but if they where in colour, I would much have preferred this one: Beovision 1400.

                  Oh well.

Look at the new Mitsubishi Platinum and Diamond series, Duke.. not much plastic there, just handsome hi-gloss burlwood or black finishes. Of course, you will spend some bucks.. ;o)

If you want a good cheap projector, the new Sony VPLHS10 is a good deal.. good-looking $3000 LCD and it's HD ready.

Looks like projectors are finally becoming reasonably priced. One question though, what do you use as a tuner? There's not one built in as far as I can tell, and I can't find any stand-alone tuners on the sony website. Does that mean you can only use it with digital cable or satellite? I realize using it with analogue cable would be a bit of a waste, but still...

Another good source of comics by the same cartoonist is at bitter films. I believe you can buy some of his other animation from there as well...

Liz... you would be suprised just how little sleep and food you can survive on for extended periods of time... or maybe not... hehe...

Andrew: Yeah most people use a cable box or satellite receiver or even a VCR with those as a source. Of course, there's always DVD, too.

Liz: I'm just concerned that you might have spent a lot of money on something that will soon be obsolete, sweetness. See? you should ask one of your A/V geek friends about these things before you go out and empty your pocketbook like that. You could probably trade if it's been bought within 30 days. It's not that expensive to get a decent HD compatible widescreen TV nowadays.
