Heh, I was afraid I might come off sounding like I'm a animal rights activist. But as it is, I'm not against fur, eating animals, properly operated zoos, pets (normal pets, not tigers or anything else that would naturally eat something the size of a person ), or anything of the sort, as long as it doesn't ruin the natural populations. With tigers, they're pretty much up s***creek because of human overcrowding and the "Eating tiger <insert random bodypart here> make you a god in bed" crap, so of course keeping a healthy captive population isn't a bad thing. The same thing is messing up plenty of other species too, and it's very often caused by the same idiotic reasons, like the classic Shark-fin soup.

The "white tigers" that S&R use(d) are far from a healthy population... they're really just a mutant strain of defective animals that's been maintained just because people think they look cool.

And you cannot blame the cats- they are just animals.
Exactly. Some people apparently reported the tiger tried to back out of the show just before the incident and Roy wouldn't let him.

So imagine this situation: you have a big wild animal which is disturbed by all the lights and sounds and the crowd of people watching him (it was the first puplic appearance of this tiger) - so it tries to back out.
Then there's this "weak" animal (Roy) standing before him not letting it out of this very uncomfortable situation and - to make it worse - teasing him and even punching his nose with the microphone...

What exactly do you think a tiger would "normally" do in this situation?!?
But we named the *dog* Indiana...

        Kill the bastard
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

          Lol.
Im cheering for the Tiger. Go Tiger! Go Tiger Go go!

AFAIK You cannot put a white tiger to death, not even if it kills people - thats only for dogs.

And to quote one of my favorite philosphers:
You can remove the Tiger from the jungle, but you cant remove the Jungle from the Tiger.

Even if it's shacking up with an alligator in New York City:

              DukeP:

Dave: good idea. I respect you for that. There's no sense in arguing over different viewpoints. This forum is usually devoid of flaming, and we should keep it that way. Best to agree to disagree like you said.

Wombat: I respect animals more than I respect most people. People do things that animals would NEVER do. Animals are without racism, rape, murder for pleasure, etc. Humans could learn something from animals.

I've posted much harsher sentiments in other forums, but I usually don't do that here out of respect for the diverse group of people that post here. I know most of you would be sickened by what I've posted in other forums regarding this topic. I'm not an activist, but I'm still cheering for the tiger.

I respect animals too, but they are capable of love and hate as well, so don't give them too much credit for being better than we are. A dog that kills a cat just for the hell of it.. chimps at war.. as to rape, gimme a break.. without rape most animal species would never procreate.

Unfortunately, this is pretty much all false. There are many documented cases of one troupe of primates attacking and wiping out entire other troupes of the same species. Also, just this week, a friend sent me one of those "this is f***ing weird" articles: <A HREF="http://www.nmr.nl/deins815.htm ">Homosexual necrophiliac avian rape</A>.

Also, racism is a red herring: How would it happen in other species? It requires two things: Physical separation long enough to diverge into races, and then transportation to link the groups after a signifigant passage of time. Not many species besides humans pull this off.

Sorry Rock, but the animals are no better than us.
