Perhaps not, but many kids are overly impressionable by their media intake. Look at the number of kids who break bones diving off their roof/bunk bed/etc. trying to fly like Superman. It only takes a few percent like this to cause problems when they react in a more distructive vein. This is why I put the responsiblity on the parents ignorance.

I'm from Nottingham, and I'm at least as angry about this as the rest of you. My condolences Ant and I wish them a speedy recovery.

Unfortunately Nottingham is getting a deserved reputation for this sort of thing. There have even been TV programmes devoted entirely to Nottingham's problems. It's partly because the city is trying hard to become a 24 hour city, pubs & clubs open very late/all night etc. It's partly because there just aren't enough cops to police it all now. But it's mainly because so many people are just plain sick.

There can never be enough cops to handle the sickos in any society unless you go to the extremes noted in Ray Bradburys "The Pedestrian" (1952), and I don't think anyone want's to go that far.

An excellent TV film was made of this story (Ray Bradbury Theater episode #23).

Of course there are always the "rehab" methods tried in A Clockwork Orange.....

I would say it's the same in most city centres now. Upset the wrong person perhaps by standing next to his girlfriend buying yourself a drink, you can get beaten, stabbed or perhaps shot. The only way to be really safe is too be liked by the regular nutters.

Sorry to hear that Ant. A long-time friend of mine was killed in Nottingham in just the same way during a festival there. He was just walking along laughing with his girlfriend, and three guys, probably Jamaican, whack-whack and that was that. They didn't touch the girlfriend. Seems to be a common thing there, and rarely does anybody get caught or charged. Not whities' turf.

I'm happy your nephews are alive. Grateful it wasn't worse.

These days they're most likely to break bones diving off their roof while emulating their favorite pro wrestler. Same thing, though.

An old roommate of my cousin's got knifed in Boston a few years back. According to him he was walking along minding his business when two "gentlemen" came up alongside him, jabbed a knife in his ribs, and continued on their way like nothing happened. He was in pretty rough shape for awhile. Knife wounds are seriously bad s**t.

Sympathies, Ant. Say hey to your nephews for all of us.

Excuse me? This is whitie's ancient HOMELAND. If these people are moving in and doing this, whitie is a spineless ****ing loser.

...could be. Go to Nottingham, London, New York City, LA, Tel Aviv or Bagdhad and look around. Every wave has a counter-wave and now it's whities' turn, innocent, naive or guilty. The rewards of discrimination are often indiscriminant. Losers in losing get desperate and only make things worse. Whitie is in the minority, whether he realizes it or not. Maybe that is what makes him so desperate.

Whitie is only in the minority in his own homeland if he allows it to happen.. if he allows it he deserves to die out. That's why social liberals are the enemy.. essentially murdering your children for the sake of an "ISM"... that's the line of bullshit people bought into to kill their children in WWI and II.. a mighty load of crap that.

Well, whitie kind of painted himself in the corner when he wanted slaves, servants, cheap labor, exotic sex kittens, etc., so now he reaps the fruit of his own greed - and weaknesses. Politics only came along later as just another synthetic ruse to climb to the top on the back of the problem for another gang of greedies. Everything catches up with you someday and politics are just an attempt to put it off 'til tomorrow and still try to rip off a bit more today. Can't have your cake and eat it to.

Could we keep politics out of this thread just for once, please? I realize I may well have started this - again - and for that I apologize.
