Doesn't have to be the capacitors, lithium batteries are infamous for hydrogen buildup, and can explode with rather surprising force.Comment

In the previous case, with the Nokia phone, it was due to a 3rd-party battery, which had skimped on the short-detector. I wonder what happened here with this "new" phone?Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Yeah thats true, Lithiums can get really pissed off if the charging circuit isn't designed for the particular battery.Comment

My brother just told me that when worked at a jewlery store, he used to blow up the tiny little watch batteries with a small propane/O2 torch. Even though they were dead batteries, they would make a really scary BANG when they got hot enough.Comment
