    Seriously.

You're a CAREER politician. You went to school and took Political Science. You've spent your entire life becoming a politician, working your way up, kissing asses and taking pissant positions.

    And you're upstaged by a weightlifter-cum-actor.

If Schwarzenneger does a good job, ALL politicians should commit suicide. It's essentially proof positive that politicians are the most worthless pieces of refuse on the planet.

Problem is that most Politicians see their position as a "Meal ticket"

And they do not care spit about anyone else than themself as long as they are payed, and has a chance to get another "easy ride" job afterwards

        Yes, but why bother?

        The Vice President has only two Constitutional duties;

        1. act as President of the Senate (basically: the parlaimentary chair). This is almost always delegated to Senators of the majority party unless there is a chance of a tie vote, in which case the VP acts as the tie-breaker. This only happens once or twice a session if at all.

        2. suceeds to the presidency in case the President dies or becomes too ill to serve and the VP becomes acting President. Eisenhowers heart attack and Regans gunshot wounds are excellent examples.

A foreign-born VP could not serve under #2.

An un-official #3 is that he can act as a high level advisor. This is rare as shown by the fact that Harry Truman didn't even know of the Manhattan Project until after Roosevelts death.

The situation with Dick Cheney, is of course, the polar opposite. Those who know Cheneys history understand that his advice on foreign relations and military affairs has been highly regarded by members of both parties for many years, so his being an active VP was to be expected.

                  A Closer Look...

Looking at the Final Tallys: Republican candidates received, in total, 4775372 Votes - Schwarzenegger and McClintock combined.

This means, one way or another, a nearly universally Democratic State voted for a Republican 59.7% of the time.

"Coat Tails" are a real possibility for the Republican Party in the Golden State.

That is seriously bad news for Democrats facing House, Senate and Presidential Elections that are only ~390 Days away. The Bellwether is tolling ominously for the DNC.

The cries of "it's the economy" and "it's all Bush's Fault" aren't winning ~any~ elections for the Democrats. Wonder why Pelosi and Daschle aren't campaigning for a presidential candidate? They are fighting for their political lives this election cycle.

                  Lessons to the DNC:

                  1) The Finger-pointing Policies of the DNC and the Democratic politicans are amounting political suicide.

Message: Nobody's buying it; the people understand larger issues and bigger pictures than they are presenting.

                  2) Democratic candidates are not looking strong anywhere this year, they all universally deride Bush and then attack one another and that basically makes them all look like 3rd. Grade school children trying to see who the lineleader is to go to the cafeteria...

2a) If/when they finally get to the cafeteria they will find the 6th. Graders already waiting in line.

Message: Get your house in order and get your candidate field narrowed. That is showing no signs of happening on a meaningful level. Sure, one of them already has bowed out, but Kuchnich is still in there and he has no hope of the nomination.

But they won't listen, you wait and see.
