Neither am I, but we more or less expect it of women to be comfortable with having their hormones messed up.

Of course we expect it of women. Look, here's the difference:

Women's hormone levels fluctuate all over the place every month. Mother nature doesn't even have it down yet: I know plenty of women that are on the pill not for birth control reasons, but for physical ones. I had a girlfriend who would actually suffer serious blood loss without the pill, and another friend who, the last time she tried going off the pill, her menstrual cramps actually knocked her unconscious while she was standing in the lab performing chemistry work.

Men on the other hand are built much differently. We're not meant to handle monthly fluctuations, nor big hormonal whacks like pregnancy. Our system is made to be pretty consistant, day-in, day-out. Adjusting testosterone levels can cause drastic behavioral changes, and testosterone levels vary greatly from man to man, so any kind of hormone therapy is going to require a good bit of fine tuning. Frankly, I'm afraid of a treatment like that changing my aggression levels (notice the glowing report only mentions libido. You think that's the only thing affected?).

I'd be more comfortable with the idea if it were an oral contraceptive. Many women need to change dosage, or brands, or forms of the pill. They can do it overnight. The male version right now has a shot that knocks out your testosterone levels for ~3 months, and uses an "implant" (yeah, I'm comfortable with that. What was the last implant I heard of? Oooh, Norplant, a.k.a. a disaster). I've heard of testosterone skin patches, but not sure if they're ready either.

Actually, I'm the most comfortable with a reversible sterilization (it's a very small surgery on a man).

That's fine, but I haven't seen one that's guaranteed reversible.

The combination treatment involves three-monthly injections of progestin - a synthetic version of the female sex hormone progesterone, used in the female contraceptive pill - and an implant of the male sex hormone testosterone renewed every four months.
No thanks!!!!

Cheers,
Elie

AFAIR the rubber is, statistically, less safe than pills...

btw az, is sterilizatin (apart from this that me no likey this idea - you're not 100% sure that it can be reversed) in Germany fully legal option?

Any option that lets me avoid the "little rubber jello mould" option is just FINE with me.

Yes, why not?

There still is no guaranteed reversible sterilization, but the chance of it being reversible is 90% - and you could always deposit a few sperms before the operation (Though I am - for various reasons - really opposed to artificial insemination)
