  • FedEx or UPS?

Which do you prefer when having something shipped? I've had much better luck with FexEx personally.

I think UPS still uses Pony Express.

i've seen UPS men in vans. running over trash cans... anyhow, i would guess that either one would be alright so long as they don't lose your package. or maybe they do, but it hasn't happened to me at least.

Oh God, anything but Parcel Farce.... (does anyone not call them that?)

I've had the odd package shipped via UPS within Europe, and their service has been spotless. I hear they're awful in the US though.

I've heard that employees call them "Parcel "I-don't-care-if-my-employees-nick-my-customers-stuff" Farce". Otherwise, no.

I once had an shipment coming to me through UPS... They couldn't find the address, but couldn't contact me as they didn't have the full phone number (number was 1 digit longer than they can fill out ).

After getting in touch with the sender, he gave me the trackingnumber. I then called UPS (found out they couldn't find the address), sorted it out, and got my packet... after over 2 weeks !

UPS is awful. If they break something, they do everything they can to avoid paying up on the insurance.

I agree.. they are evil if you are trying to get them to take care of you in any way. Some of the things we have gotten from them have been repacked by them as well.. in gruesome ways. We got an $800 pair of B&W in-wall speakers that had had their box completely ripped apart and repacked with the speakers in their foam forms.. we had ordered an FM antenna as well, which had been repacked and bent all up to fit in the box.

That being said, our particular UPS drivers seem more competent than the FedEx people. When I was awaiting my Parhelia, I saw the FedEx guy pass the store like 3 times backtracking because he was all disorganized, and tracking told me the card was ON HIS TRUCK. So finally I saw him across the street and went over to ask if he had it, and he finally found it... looked like someone had sat on it. Luckily, they had sat on the end of the box with the manual, and not the card, in it.

I didn't vote, because they are both huge organizations who have dumb monkeys working for them who at any given point in time, might be handed YOUR package, so it's just a matter of luck, really.

On average... yeah UPS is the worst, but I've had FedEx and USPS pull some major boners too

DHL so far is batting a 1000 (tho not many deliveries)

Most stuff I get from OS comes via DHL here, but then again the local companies deliver it. Then again customer service in Japan is even fantastic at McD's

UPS is the only one who delivers to or picks up from the door here, even with door-to-door service paid for.

Fedex, DHL, TNT et al. give you a phone call and invite you to collect it. You go along to the office that phoned you and the chances are that they have moved it to another office. Ask them to post it and they refuse.

I've never had the slightest problem with UPS, either here or in Switzerland. They deliver promptly, courteously and I've never had a breakage with them.

US air mail (whatever) if it's coming from the US. I'm cheap when it comes to paying 100+ $ shipping for something you can smuggle in a girl's bikini (while she's wearing it ).
