Umm, no. I saw an article once about this which was painful just to read. The author related that it took nineteen seconds to run the needle sideways through the glans. It is beyond my understanding why someone would pay some dodgy-looking weirdo good money to have them deform your genitalia for you. This has to be classified as mental illness, no way around it.

        Wow, such hatred towards tattoos

I got my first tat when I was 19, I am now 31. I am not finished getting tattoos.

As far as finding them stupid as I get older, I will agree that some are stupid, but that is what cover-ups are for I have two on my back that I plan on getting covered up with more tattoos. The difference now is, I will take my time with what I choose and it will have much more meaning now. All in all, too much tattoos is definitely ugly, or misplaced tattoos. Other than that, I love tattoos. Too bad they are a "trendy" thing to do now.

Oh, I forgot to mention something. I agree that tattoos can deter from certain jobs. That is truly unfortunate that people label you for that very reason. Luckily I work for a company that doesn't care what I look like or what tattoos I have on my body. And yes, I work for a large corporation(30,000 employees) with kick ass policies. True, I work in engineering, but I wouldn't take a sales job anyway

The only old people I've seen who LIKE their tattoos are the real freakies (who have most of their body covered) and those for whom it holds a social significance - army vets and hell's angels, for example.

It's bad enough that you have to look in the mirror and cope with yourself aging badly... nevermind having to look in the mirror and cope with the deformed scorpion or rattlesnake aging badly.

If my tattoos look like crap when I'm older, I'm willing to accept that. It's not that big of a deal, it's just skin. It's not like your life is going to change because you have ink on your body.

Although, my everyday life is fairly normal, I would probably dress a little freakier if it wasn't for my job. I understand that my job and me paying the bills is more important than showing some tats.

When I get older, I hope that when I look at my deformed skull, or women, or whatever, I can say, "I remember getting this tattoo and it meant a lot to me". I want it to be meaningful and hold signficance. blah blah blah... I could go on for a while..

How does she feel about how I feel? Uhh... it's sort of a source of contention.

None of them turn me off that much. They're at least relatively small and tasteful. I think I'm more disturbed that she would want to get more without taking my feelings into consideration.

And let's not get into the kinkier aspects of lovemaking.

I would never do anything like that, that's insane, but only through skin? That's different.

                I don't "hate" tattoo's, I just don't want one.

And don't forget all the "nice" infections that tattoos and even more piercings esp. in "delicate areas" are prone to cause...

Not to speak about Hepatitis B/C infections caused by piercings/tattos

                    Highly unlikely with proper treatment.

                    IMPOSSIBLE with proper equipment care.

I love tribal tattoos, of course I find it mandatory to have a well fit body with it. Forearm or armband is as far as I'd go.

                      a "small" forearm I like:

                      and a big one:

                        Yes, with proper treatment/equipment care...

Unfortunately those aren't always applied - just look at some of the cheaper tatoo studios and the guys working in there...

As an ex-employer, I agree that I would have been very wary of hiring someone with a visible tattoo in any position of responsibility. This not because of their non-conformity: I never placed any restrictions on dress code and I even had an engineer who had bright purple tresses in his hair. It's just that visible tattoos are a signal of what I would consider an undesirable mindset within a corporation such as mine. I know many others who had a similar attitude. Maybe this is a form of racism, but, there again, I can't be accused of that (I hired at least one of each from Spain, Viet-Nam, Peru, Nigeria, Germany, Italy, Yugoslavia (as it then was), Poland, Guinea-Bissau, Ukraine, Tunisia and even some Swiss!).

That having been said, I have a handful of green, red and blue dots scattered around on my lower abdomen, but that was for a good reason and are always well covered up except when I'm in the shower -- and you have to look hard to see them.

                              Brian,

I think we're in agreement here. I don't judge people based on their skin color, their religion, or their sex. I do judge them, however sad or wrong this might be, on whether they look like a hooligan or not. And unfortunately, highly visible tattoos are a walking advertisement "I hang out with the wrong element".

Now those horizontal tribal thingers that women get on the small of their back above their ass... those are cute to look at, on occasion...
