  • Planning on seeing the LotR Extended edition marathon in the theater?

Just curious if anyone here plans on watching the triple showing of the extended editions of Fellowship and Two Towers followed by Return of the King? I want to see both extended versions in the theater, but I can't imagine sitting and watching them one after another.

The theater in town that's showing it sold out all the seats for the triple show a few days after they went on sale, but at least they have a resturaunt so that you can eat breakfast , lunch, and dinner without leaving the theater. The theater my brother works at (same chain) actually serves food to you in your seats in the theater, but they got lucky and didn't get the extended versions, just Return of the King.

alas we will not be able to see ROTK untill january.... and they wont do the extended stuff here..... actualy they might take out some parts from the film to make it shorter and have more runs..

Given the time and money, I'd do it twice.
After watching Lars Von Trier'a "Riget" (The Kingdom ~4.5 hours) and Breaking the Waves (the longest 2.5 hours of my life ) nothing intimidates me anymore.

I plan on buying the Two Towers Extended edition DVD, camping out at home barefoot in a t-shirt and gym shorts, and watching the first two before going to see Return of the King. I can pause it and go to the bathroom whenever i want, and have the snacks of my choice without paying $$$ for them. There is nothing like having a home Theater.

I'll be enjoying the marathon at home as well.

I can't imagine sitting in a theatre for 8 hours just for the first two movies. I think I'll do the marathon at home as well, probably spread over four nights
