Holding off on WiFi myself for security reasons.

Ex: a Southfield, Michigan Lowes store (home center) had their wireless network hacked badly by a couple of guys in a stores parking lot with a laptop. They eventually hacked into Lowes national network.

LEAP is pretty good wireless security since it changes your authentication key every 30 seconds. Very hard for someone to break in.

Ahh here we don"t have the problem - yet. but I can't run a cable up the hallway (only because of a weird person in another room) so wifi it is, or I actually have to pay for a line to be installed.

Balaya, the Lowe's spokesperson, declined to say whether the Southfield store used encryption. "I couldn't release any information about the security of the system," she says.
          In other words: "I donno."

That or they didn't use encryption and nobody in management wants the stockholders to see that particular piece of stupidity confirmed

PS just to clarify a question I was asked earlier, I'm not actually stealing bandwith, its the house connection, but its not piped to the rooms, as the management company doesnt have permision to run the cat 5. I keep the crusty old P1 online for them and I can run my wifi.
