Garry Kasparov vs. X3D Fritz Round 3?

Who do you think will win? Will Garry be able to redeem his terrible blunder of Game 2? Will there be another stalemate as in Game 1?

edit: Whoops, I forgot stalemate as an option, could someone add that please?

Either a Draw or a Win for Fritz. Can't see Kasperov coming back to win the series. History shows that computers tend to get stronger as the series goes on due too not suffering from tiredness as us Human's do.
They also don't suffer from running of out of time the little orrid things.

Errr yup.

I used to know a player who couldn't play until he was drunk. 10 pints or less crap 11 or more be very careful.


Can remember the snotty little kid at this chess congress. I was at the bar all lunch so I was slightly wobbly. His little eyes lit up and one or two silly comments to his friends after a slight blunder by myself very early. That was it, pint to oneside and half n hour later little snotty kid bottom lip was going as he was nicely mated. Always in chess give your opponent respect.

I won club championship one year beating the favourite over two games. The first game for some reason we pissed around and agreed the draw. The second game I was in serious trouble until a brilliant forcing pawn move that allowed another pawn to run unmolested to the queening square. I liked that one.
Anyway winning the club championship you represented the club in another comp against other clubs. I was due to play this bloke and we decided to play a few friendlies while everyone else came in and settled down. Except he was taking the friendlies very seriously and thrashed me in everyone and he decided I was a complete idiot who didn't know a King from a Queen.
Okay I thought just wait till we start. Sure enougth mister arrogant moved his peices around the board like he's going mate me in three or four moves. Big mistake Mr Arrogant overlooks the obivous and wham bam thank you mam I'll take your resigation. He left the club very quickly and quietly.

Although Hiarcs9 mops the floor with me even at 1530 (reduced) rating.

The Pit: What's your favourite opening?

Favourite opening White 99% E4 unless I know my opponent really hates a particular opening then I'll change. Most of the time I can naturally adapt to any opening.

Black either Petroff or Bogo Indian.

I like Hiarcs9 very much, it generally thrashes Fritz8 in 4 or 2min blitzes (permanent brain, dual box).

It also plays more positionally, as Fritz plays more tactially (picks safety of king over developing a piece).

E4 developes generally into Ruy Lopez, which is IMO kind of boring, hence I prefer D4 openings.

Plenty of stuff in the old Ruy lopez to play around with. I tend to find D4 boring.

What opening you like to play against. I like people who try and play french against me as I quite enjoy the trench warfare or just taking them out of the opening altogether. Depends what mood I'm in.

I have again started to take chess more seriously only in the past months, previously I played the most chess in the bar, while skipping classes in hi-school.

I find slav interesting. As black I opt for sicilian, Petroff or Scandinavian against E4.

I'm a novice, I just play for fun and not competitively, but I'm trying to pick up more as I go along.

Usually I go for a flanking maneuver like Reti's (I think it's also called Zuketort or something like that) or the English opening.

btw, I still hope Garry will come back in the next 2 rounds.

Long time since I played against the Reti. Petrof I'm happy playing either side. Anyone playing the sicilian I suggest they look at the Morra gambit.
