I'll check with the expats here regarding car costs - as they have all been through the same processes...

From a mid-40s Canadian living within the M25 (ie close to London):

BMW 525 costs about 350 to 380 pounds to insure.

That should be a pretty good benchmark - Lincolnshire should be cheaper still. But basically you don't need to worry too much about the insurance costs - it won't be a showstopper.

Try and get the company to pay for medical insurance for you both.

Basically, you will be more than comfortable

        More on Lincolnshire :
-Don't get lost on the Wolds - it's wierd up there
-Bring plenty of warm clothing - it can get quite cold
-Hope you don't mind the smell of pig farming
-Wonder why Lincolnshire consistently tops the list of the "UK's cheapest housing"?

Maybe I'm just hanging with an older crowd, then. ROFL.

Come to think of it, I'm not "under 25" anymore either.

(Here in the USA, 25 is a magical age after which you get a gigantic insurance break, can rent cars without a cosigner, etc.)

Won't be a problem. Keep my homebrew and local "craft" brewery alse in my beer fridge set at 16C. The local brew pubs in in my area typically serve their beer 14C - 16C. Normal bars/taverns serve the commercial beers (Budweiser ,Miller,Coors, etc.) 6C - 9C. Much too cold, numbs the taste buds.... then again that may be just what they want.

If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.
