You might have a point there, Wombat.. I didn't scrutinize the video that closely. These things can be edited to produce almost any outcome, and when was the last time you saw a cop admit to being in the wrong or doing anything stupid (especially on a nationally televised cop show?)

I looked at it closely, and it's the same bit of video replayed slowly. Same clouds in the sky, same set of left over "temporary" construction strips alongside of the permanent ones. And I don't know what you mean about Kansas interstate exits being similar. And I don't know what you mean about Kansas interstate exits being similar. And I don't know what you mean about Kansas interstate exits being similar. And I don't know what you mean about Kansas interstate exits being similar.

I wonder how they knew he was 15 years old if they never caught him... Maybe they made that up too and he was a professional car thief.

This is honestly two different stretches of highway in Kansas.

Jammy, gotta disagree here. The silo-looking thing in the distance is also in the same place, and the car on the side of the road. I don't think the differences you see are different road, but rather what happens when you re-crop, slow down, and re-encode a section of video.

And really, why would the BMW act that way if he broke down?

The consensus seems to be the kid got away, and the cops just lied to make themselves look good and tell the public "the bad guys never escape". No wonder the kid escaped. A Camaro?!?! LOL! The cops need much better cars and better driver training I think, unless they're going to rely on the helicopter to catch nut bars that run.

Well, they are constrained from buying German supercars to use as cruisers.. they gotta buy what is (ostensibly) American. Funny how that works.. GM is only American because the fat cats are American.. the people who actually build the cars live in Mexico, and BMWs are built in South Carolina or some such place.

Not too many BMWs are built in the USA. The X5 is to some degree, but the main sellers for BMW are definetly not (3 series, M line, etc). If BMW was built by Americans, I never would have purchased one.
