I don't mind being hit a small amount if it does reduce the the volume of spam.

As I pointed out, running many (10+) base units to send your spam out isn't a cheap solution. Spam works because a spammer can email a LOT of people and get a few respones. It only works so well because at the moment spammer does not need to invest a significant amount of resources into it. Large companies could afford to continue spamming people, but like the regular post, they will have to be more careful with who/how often they send spams.

I wouldn't mind some spam SO much if it was only comprised of legitimate goods and services that i'd be interested in. And I wouldn't mind so much if I wasn't forcing into a situtation where I can't give my little sister an email box without the fear of it being spammed into next week with online casino and pornograhpic spam email.
