    ITs on belts.
I guess it weighs about 6 tons?

Its belts are mayhaps 50 centimeters wide and 5 meters of lenght.

Thats 0.12kg per cm^2. My shoes support 0.13kg per cm^2
(NOT pure science here, just more or less guesstimates).

AFAIK most of these "heavy" machine applie rather little pressure to the ground.

Still, I wouldn't want one to drive over my foot...

Good point, Duke.. but aren't there pressure points under those big tracks where the actual wheels meet the ground? I guess it doesn't matter as far as this goes though.. since the whole expanse of the belt can support the thing. BIG snowshoes there..

I suppose the same thing applies to a battleship.. but we don't question how a million tons of hardened steel stays afloat.

if the estimate is correct - have you tried walking over snow lately? normal snow won't support you. makes you feel rather stupid if you go on skies through the wood and decide to put them off... and suddenly see them lying at about breast level.

            Your right Wulfman.
Noway even that vehicle can drive on freshlyfallen snow.

But im quite confident it can go whereever I can go.
It might actually have as little as half the pressure per square as do I.

Oh, and IT doesnt lift one track, to move the other! Forgot that part. Then pressure might be as low as 1/4 of me moving around with my size 44 boots.

Not naked, nope. But Im quite certain you would be OK if you had boots on.

Dont test it on my word though!

I prefer the machine over a high heel put on my toes...

It's gonna start snowing here tonight. I normally wouldn't mind but tomorrow I have to go for a history test, and it's supposed to get really heavy tomorrow
