Very funny, well first off...
1-The cost for a practice Katana is well over $500, so the Katana they are selling for $44.0 must be made out the cheapest metal in the world.
2-You never EVER strike a desk with a Katana! They are meant to cut soft objects like bamboo, or the human body
Eventually I will be taking Iaido, and will buy a good Katana for roughly $700.00
The real ones cost anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 and sold only in Japan!

Just one shop here http://www.japansword.co.jp/Juu nin to iro
English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

I think the Exhibits are part of the museum, they would have ancient ones for sale, but it would be an ask, and get a small peice of paper with many zeros after the first number situation.Juu nin to iro

ehh and the body contains bones? They are meant to cut soft objects like bamboo, or the human body
I do think a proper one would chop through a desk, not that any sane owner of one would do it, unless hes in a Ninja fight with a particularly beligerant desk.
The proper one's are made by coldrolling iron and various addatives(alloys), I think a decent reproduction one has to cost at *least* $1000.
I do believe some of the very best have been folded at least 100 times, that is a very time consuming and specialised process.
The one in that ad is just some polished diecast krap.

Id actually far prefer a spanish made long or broadsword.
10 times the strenght, much better metalogy.
Then again, blades in Europe HAD to be strong - we did after all fight against armored opponents.
(Imagine making an armor out of polished and laquered bamboo??)

ROFL
That's a reason for not broadcasting those kinds of shows live
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

I don't know about that. Heavy, blunt swords they were. And certainly no Damascus steel.Originally posted by DukeP
