  • Batman: Intimidation

    It's an origins film.

Director (EDIT....McG is out): Christopher Nolan (Momento, Insomnia). Not as good as my fave (Alex Proyas) but better than McG.

Script: David S. Goyer (Dark City, Blade, Blade II, Freddy v. Jason and Zig Zag) and said to be a long overdue return to the Dark Knight style.

Bruce/Batman: Christian Bale (American Psycho, Reign of Fire etc.)

Alfred: Sir Michael Caine (too many to list!!)

Assistant DA Rachel Dodson: Katie Holmes

Ra's al Ghul: Viggo Mortensen or John Malkovich (rumors)

    Scarecrow: Christopher Eccleston (rumor)

Lucius Fox, COO Wayne Enterprises: Morgan Freeman

Others rumored for the cast: Cillian Murphy and Chris Cooper.

Villian: Ra's al Ghul (arabic for “the demon's head”), leader of the League of Shadows.

While Ra's Al Ghul possesses no super-human powers, he has remarkable strength and stamina. He is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and a master swordsman. Whenever Ra's is near death, he can extend his lifespan and renew his vitality through his immersion into the Lazarus Pit, a combination of secret chemicals that roil and bubble in a vat deep within Al Ghul's headquarters. Its only known side effect is the demeanor and strength of a madman that it temporarily induces in Al Ghul once he surfaces.
    Release date: July 1, 2005

The original album is one of the best batman ever.

The whole "Soul alive/death/reborn" theme, as well as the struggle between two superior humans (NOT super, superior).

AFAIR Batman actually dies, or at least gets VERY close to dying - saved by a damsel, no less.

      A bit 007 like also.

      But darker, and deeper.

      Looking forward to it!

July 2005? A year and a half out and they have a release date already? Have they even started on it yet?

Christian Bale would probably make a great Batman, though. I guess Michael Gough doesn't feel up to continuing his role as Alfred. He was perfect in the role.

I for one would LOVE to see a very dark, more serious Batman movie. Not the cartoon-based schlock we've seen in the first few godawful movies. I don't care what anyone says, Nicholson SUCKED as the joker. Dumb character, dumb performance = one awfully bad Batman flick. Bale could pull this role off BIG time.

You caught that eh? Nah, I didn't like it. In comparison to the next 2, its a friggin Oscar winner, but I still thought it stunk. They could have done so much MORE with the Batman character, but they didn't. Cookie-cutter idiotic bad guys, and not enough of Batmans "dark" character. I'd love to see a movie made based on the Batman that I've seen in the older (and some newer) comics where he had monologues about how the screams of his terrified victims helped him sleep.

So far the best in the series imho was Batman: Forever, both Carrey&Tommy Lee Jones made convincing villains and Val Kilmer was by far the most realistic Batman to date, i don't know what they were thinking when they got that midgit Michael Keaton to play the part. This new one seems VERY interesting, it's also great that they ditched Robin, one can't have a proper dark Batman movie with the WunderKid in it.

WTF, Val Kilmer was the WORST choice they could've made for batman, especially when ALL you see of him are his friggen TEETH (not that this isn't the case when he DOESN'T wear the mask...). It's almost as ridiculous as The Saint - the killer with a thousand faces (and about one hundred tombstone-sized incisors).

The only role he could play convincingly was the guy in Top Secret.

Now, now....be nice. You do have to give VK credit for playing a very convincing and accurate Doc Holliday in Tombstone. He was also perfect for Real Genius
