Friday 13th, October 1995 My little brother died. But according to the ancient Egyptians that is really good luck to die on that day.

            What is Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?
Defined as "a persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear of long words", each year, this surprisingly common phobia causes countless people needless distress.

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia. As a confirmed sesquipedalian, I believe that this circumlocution is so contrived as to be meaningless, notwithstanding its obfuscated radical etymology.

OTOH, the original word in this thread is crystal clear in its roots:
paraskevi is the exact Greek word for Friday
              dekatria is 13
phobia is, well, phobia or fear
              and is therefore 100% Greek.

On this island, there is no paraskevidekatriaphobia but there is tritidekatriaphobia, as Tuesday the 13th is considered unlucky according to the local superstitions.

Well it's been a slightly unusual, but by no means bad, day in the life of Ribbit.

I did spend a few minutes around someone who was using a machete, though. After she warned me not to get too close, I couldn't help but think about how today was Friday the 13th, and tomorrow was Valentine's Day....
