Last I checked, there wasnt any +7volt from my ATX PSU.


I guess you mean you draw from +12V and ground to +5?

Which DOES give you +7v difference, but also a (slight) posibility of blowing the entire system, by shorting +12v to the +5v rail.

Jon - AHHHHHh yeah my attempt was before I did much with turning fans around, I'm a big fan of pulling up from the heatsink myself. The one exception being if you have that fan near a vent in the side of the case and can pull fresh air onto the heatsink

Have used various stuff... K&N for gauze/paper filters (amoungst others), Castrol foam filter oil...

What you are really looking for is very tacky oil, but one that works without clogging your media type

I've been looking into filters as well. The cheapie filter on my current case does a pretty poor job as my case still gets filled with dust after a while. I looked around on other sites and have come to the conclusion that some kinda of auto air filter would probably work best. How would I go about mounting one to a case? Besides duct tape, that is

BTW, how well would a HEPA filter designed for home air purifiers work?
