yup, PT is cool to listen. If you like this kind of psychedelic or progressive rock, i could recommend to give Arena , IQ or Jadis a try.

Especially Arena is awesome, one of the bands i listen nearly every week, incredible stuff.

For melancholic electronic music, Massive Attack (now just "Massive", IIRC) might be to your taste, too.

BTW, you could try MoodLogic. It's a program (network?) that tries to recommend songs that are similar to the one you're hearing, there's a plugin for winamp. I haven't tried it though, so can't say if it's any good.

If you happen to listen to the radio (at least here) after 2am, the get to hear some pretty decent music (unlike the crap they put on during the day).

I like some of Massiva Attack's songs (Protection, Tear Drop, Unfinished Sympathy) but the music I mentioned earlier is more acoustic and much less electronic so while the mood is the same, the instruments aren't.

Got better things to do at 2 am than listen to music of any type.

I never listen to music from the radio here a) the CyBC and most commercial stations pump out nothing but Greek stuff, which is almost as bad as the samples you suggested b) the Turkish stuff is even worse to my delicate lug-holes c) we live in a delightful hole where the local FM and TV has an extrmely poor signal strength and suffers from interference from radio and TV stations in Lebanon, Israel (sorry!) and Egypt. My car radio is tuned to BBC World Service which rarely has music.

I therefore resort to a collection of CDs and vinyl when I wish to listen to music, mostly classical, but that is my taste, as High and Dry, may be your's.

Hope this doesn't sound too pompous

Nice music clips, TX.. I actually like all that stuff, as well as BE's classical music. You didn't mention Smashing Pumpkins.. do you listen to them? If you want to discover more bands like this, you should make friends with some 13-14yo girls who dress in black, have scars on their wrists, yet ironically have genius level IQs.

I have a very nice classical collection. But most of the time I like modern stuff better.

Apparantly I love their "A killer in me is a killer in you" and "Tonight, tonight" songs but never knew it was them.

Thanks, I already have a wife that covers this base (musically) quite well. She introduced me to stuff I knew by hearing but didn't know who/what it was and lot's of great other stuff I never heard about.
It's funny because I know a much broader variation of music than she does, yet her knowledge of certain types of music goes far far deeper than mine. Her knowledge in music is far more advanced than mine.

Anyway, I assume you're a morning person (unlike me) and besides, during my Army service, I found myself working deep into the night on many occasions. Around midnight the radio stops with all the Britny Spears shit and starts playing mostly good stuff from the 70's - 80's with some good modern stuff (Air etc.)

Hee-hee! When I did my army service, I was listening to Jo Stafford, Les Paul, Johnny Cry Ray and others from the early 50's, but then that was between 1951 and 1954! That was when Bing Crosby was already an oldie and Frank Sinatra was a fresh young upstart

Actually, I do tend to be a night owl rather than an early bird, but I usually go to bed after watching the midnight BBC news.

Thats only a small sample of a HUGE amount of phenomenal P.T. songs. If you go album hunting for P.T. discs, I'd recommend "The Sky Moves Sideways" or "Voyage 34: The Complete Trip" if you like Pink Floyd. "In Absentia" is their newest disc of new music (more modern and a touch louder in some songs), its a must have. Hell, I could list any one of their albums as a must have, but I'm biased. Try those, see what you think.
