Sorry, it is in the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary and is defined as a kind of Indian embroidery.
I also found it in Encyclopaedia Britannica:

Chikan work: Hindi Chikankārī delicate, fine Indian embroidery done in white cotton threads on plain muslin.
