There is a new, great, large, campaign-driven mod for JA2 out there with >100 sectors, new weapons, new NPCs...
You can get it at http://www.jamodsquad.com/
Also, Strategy First (who have bought the Jagged Alliance Franchise from Sir-Tech) are releasing JA2: Wildfire, a new campaign based on a mod. They will release JA2's source code along with it, so we will see more and better mods in the future until JA3 comes out (Quote from Strategy First: "the poll results clearly show there’s a huge interest in JA3. We already know this anyway – the license was not acquired just for the fun of it and future plans for the series ARE being worked on. It’s just a question of time").
To all who don't know what this is about: JA is a turn-based squad strategy game, not unlike X-Com, but realistic.
