Spiral

So simple yet so complex… no mater how you look at it never makes sense yet it makes perfect sense. It is there but not there. Spiral… an anagram to our state of mind. Twisted, bent, perfect, complete… when do we begin? Where do we end? We spiral in and out, looking… searching… and what do we find at the end? Our selves? Or did we find that at the begging? Do we ever see the point before it is too late? Before we become one with the spiral?

For me, the direction is always inwards, always hesitantly struggling towards the middle. Yet no words can express my disappointment when I reach the last one of those 360 degrees, only to find that there is still no end in sight.
As a youngster I was sure that there would be one, that some glorious day I would reach my point of fulfillment and close my eyes in the blinding light of pure perfection. But with age comes doubt; What if all there is is an infinity of loops, all designed to take away from my precious time?
And even if I reach the end of my whirling journey - will I be satisfied? Will it bring me a sense of completion? Will I fade away knowing that my goal is now achieved; or like so many times before, will there be a short-lived burst of joy, soon again followed by the sound of voices which now drive me? I know I could not resist their call, for although I know they don't exist, they are my friends - the only friends that I have left.

There is no spiral. There is however what we perceive to be a spiral. Since we are all largely stuck in the latter one, I assume you mean that one. In which case, does the sprial, to which you perceive to be something or other, even matter?

The spiral is a perfect metaphore for life. Tho it is 2 dimensional, and appears just to go around and around, the limit of 2 dimensions hides the bumps and ups/downs we travel through until the end of life.

Sacrifice

Never is it easy for one to give up that which is so dear to the soul, yet it is done again and again and again. As we walk our path in life we come across the points on the spiral. There we see those that will join us on our journey… together we walk spiraling ever downwards… or was it upwards? Hard to remember at this point… Knives flash in the dark and blood trickles down over our faces. Monsters descend from the skies… or did they ascend from the sky? Hard to remember at this point? One is pushed the other is pulled, both are torn away from each other… or was it torn towards each other? Hard to remember at this point. We hold that which is dear to the soul close and then we give it away to save the day…. But why was night to begin with? Hard to remember at this point. Point? What point was that? Pointless… hard to remember now… but is it now? Or was it then?
