Alistair Cooke dies aged 95

Veteran broadcaster and journalist supreme Alistair Cooke died at home. Best known for his "Letter from America" series of broadcasts that ran weekly for 58 years on BBC Radio in the UK, he has seen and commented on an enormous amount of recent US history and certainly for me has always been tremendously enlightening and made that atlantic pond that little bit shallower and narrower...
