The Israeli equivalent to the RIAA is on the verge of closing down.
Reason: it has been declared to be a monopoly/cartel.
Since they refuse to accept the regulations imposed by the government, in two weeks they'll be considered an illegal organisation

The RIAA and MPAA have too many politicians in their pockets to be shut down. Public outrage has to reach a point where the majority of politicians would be in trouble of losing re-election before the RIAA and MPAA would be shut down like that.
