It's cool that this guy snapped because he didn't get his way with the town council? Or it's cool that he terrorized his whole community and caused millions in damage with his temper tantrum? Or it's cool that he put a slug into his own head?

Sorry, I just don't see anything cool about it.
The only not-so-grim part of this episode is that he didn't kill anyone but himself in his rampage.

Sorry, I didn't mean to put forth such an impression. My wording was vague, and I had meant to reference his ingenuity with the bulldozer.

Even so, I now realize it was a silly thing to say.

something similar haapend at my father-in-laws quarry.
A man angry at at a divorce took a bulldozer and demo'd his own home, demo'd a vintage corvette and proceded to demo part of the quarry. He was blockaded with rocks and heavy equipment, and everyone just waited untill the dozer ran out of gas. (basically over night).

It's sad that the guy felt he had to die, and that this was the only recourse left to him. What's cool is that he did not injure anyone else, and supposedly made a point of not injuring anyone else, except financially, as he claimed they had wronged him. Whether he was correct in thinking he was wronged, who knows? The only people we can hear from now are the people who supposedly wronged him. The only good I can see from this is that people who feel they can legislate and make executive decisions with impunity which directly affect people's lives and livelihood, and perhaps destroy that livelihood, will know better now. We all know that people abuse power, but now that everyone has seen this, perhaps they will think twice before doing so.

It's not the first time this has happened here either.
3 years ago, a guy took his bulldozer to all the county buildings in the mountain town of Alma. But that guy didn't armor or mount weapons in that incident.

              Off Topic:
@Kruzin: Alma? That's in Quebec right?? (unless it's another mountain town in the states) (There's a Granby in Quebec, ther's a Kingston in Ontario, there's a London in Ontario, there's even a Paris in Ontario, there's a Montreal in the states)

Anyways, the guy probably killed himself cause he thought the cops would have done it anyways like they did to that one guy who stole that tank, tis my theory.

Alma is a flyspec on the map here in Colorado. Tiny old mining town about 6 miles north of Fairplay (which is ~50 miles s/w of Denver). These little towns are in the Southpark area, made famous by the Southpark animated show

One interesting thing is that the guy in Granby knew he was dead when he putt he armor on. There was no getting out of that bulldozer without a welding team.
