    Please define evil and wrong.

Evil in this case is where drug kingpins are respected and revered just because they are rich and powerul, without any regard to anything else they might be. This happens out of cowardice present in the general population, and this respect and fear of those who ruthlessly use their power for ill trickles down into the rest of society, poisoning every layer.

Yes, I'm making a value judgment. Those who shrink from making such judgements wind up with the sort of society we are talking about.. where might makes right.

        Your describtion is right.

But I still think a tribe in the guineas would really like some love and some cash to go with that as well.

What Im talking about is even distribution of money.

You cant be bribed, if you dont need cash (bribery is VERY rare, here in Denmark - I have NEVER tried it, nor have anyone ever approached any I know).

It doesnt really need to be that much cash - it just needs to be evenly distributed.

Oh. And love is important too!

are you sure your not confusing "respected and revered" with "feared and loathed"?

and yes you are makeing a value judgement. and you are making it based on your societal values. we all do. However what is right for you, in your cultural setting is not right for other people in theirs.

Understand the meaning of my sig, then look for things you can identify with in other cultures. Things will not get better until we learn to celebrate our similarities, and recognize our differences.

*note to all, personally i'd remove the perpertrators spleens with a blunt wooden spoon

Once again, cowardice is the defining factor.

Case1: Evil bastard abuses power, courageous person stands up to him, populace supports the courageous individual, their own courage inspired by his, and the evil bastard is deposed.

(Just saw a documentary of exactly this thing happening recently, where Serbians rose up en masse to depose Slobodan Milosovic, inspired by the outspoken courage of a few students.)

Case2: Evil bastard abuses power, courageous person stands up to him, but the craven populace backs away from their courageous champion out of fear that they too will be harmed by the evil bastard. Evil wins the day because no one dares display the type of courage needed to change things, all because of a lack of faith and courage in the general populace. This assumes these adults have a basic moral teaching to fall back upon, and have no excuse for their faithless abandonment of morality. Children learn from this bad example, and laugh at the institutions that preach good morals, because they are weak while the evil bastards are strong, so the way to go in life is to be as much like the evil bastard as one can be. So we have people who would stoop to steal a baby right from its mother's womb. All for the lack of faith and courage.

One evil bastard can't decapitate everyone if they stand together. That is the point.

I really don't think its about just being a coward.

People do have priorities, usualy it's food on table, kids/wife fed. everything else comes after basic survival.

That's one reason why the world suffers so. People are small-minded. If they can see that they and their children will be much better off without tyrrany, indeed, have a better chance of survival, it's easier to show courage.

If trying to stand up to that tyranny means that you kids, who are not able to defend themselves, are put in danger, most parents will decide to rather keep their kids safe. Humans are like that.

I know there are a lot of nice examples for people successfully standing up for their rights and such, but there are also a lot of (not so nice) examples of people trying to stand up and being decapitated/shot/etc. for it, not only because no one else stood up with them, but also because the people they were trying to overthrow were a lot better equipped
