    Auto or manual?

Careful with those staging boxes. For some reason, motors are a lot more likely to blow on runs when they are used.

What kind of ignition setup do you have?

It's a manual trans (tremec 5speed) with 4.56 rear gear.

all the staging can be handled by my Ford EPEC module, it also controls fuel, spark, datalogging, NOS if installed, boost retard, etc, etc.
all paramaters are modified via laptop and it can be configured as stand-alone or piggy-back.
It's one of the most capable systems available and can control any engine from 2 to 10 cylinders.

I've also improved ignition capability with an MSD module/coil.

gonna be fun transplanting the whole works in an older stang!
Yeah, well I'm gonna build my own lunar space lander! With blackjack aaaaannd Hookers! Actually, forget the space lander, and the blackjack. Ahhhh forget the whole thing!

Back in HS spent a summer helping a friend (Kurt) rebuild a '69 Stang fastback aptly named named the Yellow Jacket... all black with yellow rally stripes head to toe, Craigers on the rear and a L72 427ci bigblock, 11:1 compression and a super charger (can't remember carbs and some other details anymore being some ~28 years ago

The Jacket would flatout haul bootay, even more so with 96oct AV gas

Standing bet was a hundred dollar bill sticking up off the dash... if you could grab while accelerating it was yours... a feat never achieved by anyone

My father had a '66 Mustang (picked it up at the factory and drove home)... as hard as Kurt tried he couldn't talk dad out of the Rally lights... one feature that really makes the originals really stand out in a crowd

Is this a track car, or just a "spirited" street driver? No need of a BBK if it isn't on the track (although upgraded calipers are never a bad plan). BBKs are only for die-hard track-ers (or so it seems in the BMW world). Trackers or show cars.

Actually both ford and chevy had 427's, but the L72 is a corvette designation. Ford also had 428's available that year in the cobra jet version.
FYI the 427 SOHC motor from Ford made 657 hp and 576ft-lbs of torque, but was only available in the 1964 Galaxie 500.
the stock 427 in the mustang still made 390-425 hp and 480 ft-lbs of torque .
Now strap on a supercharger and you are making some serious neck- snapping power.

There is NO replacement for displacement.

BTW, it's really not uncommon to find chevy motors in fords.

Yeah and in like 20 cars, but the Cammer was still seriously badass.
