haha, I remember that, I was a pre-crash member as well. Lurked for awhile before re-registering.

    ahh, the good ole days.

Whoops, brain fart I guess. I meant to type "moved to another server" not "our own server".

We need a MURC historian to clear this up.

I'm pretty sure I had to reregister or maybe I joined right after the crash, cause I do remember it happening.

22nd July 1999 was my first post ever. (post-crash???)

          Nostalgic Thread
That was quite a post count you had back then, Zokes.

I'm pre-crash as well. First registered in summer or fall of '97, I think, when I got the old G200, which is currently the centerpiece of the home entertainment system I set up in my family room.

Don't remember the crash all that well. I vaguely remember re-registering for something. My memory of that time is a little jumbled.

I once started a thread in The Soap Box asking about the history of the community. I got a few answers. In case anyone is interested:

I guess we need to clairify whether we are talking about the MURC website or the MURC forums. Because the forums did not offically open until around May of 98. The MURC itself started up about 3 years prior to that, I think.

I personally found out about the MURC after purchasing the M3D, anyone want to remember that card??, in Nov of 97. I was having some problems with it and in one of my phone conversations with Matox's tech support they referred me to the site.

I came to MURC looking for advice about getting my Mystique (original 170) to play nice with my FIC-503+ motherboard.

I thought that was in 97.
But it could have been 98.
If I can dig up the receipt for the card or mb, I will be able to tell.

Wow that was a long time ago.

I started coming here near the beginning, in 1998 sometime, when I got my G200 Millennium. I happened to be online right when the re-registering was announced, so that's how I got my uber-1337 uid

I actually sold a TNT card to BUY a G200!
(but nVidia won the next two rounds, and there she stayed, stuck with a GeFart 2 Pro 64mb)

I started coming here arround Parhelia hype and also because my G400 lost BIOS and I thought it was dead.

Thanks to Ant for telling me to go to tech support on IRC and RMA and thanks to [M] tech support my G400 is still going strong.
