  • How about in Brandenburg???

BTW this is the list I've been working from. Also a great reference site for this game

    • It's not in Brandenburg, either. The city is on your list. It would be creative to start looking up artists and go from there.

      • Novdid is here.. he might have a special reason to know about this city. That's the last clue.

        • Alright, I know I said that was the last clue but I couldn't resist posting the famous painting that scene reminded me of. It's the same city, and it was painted around 1820-1822.

edit: I'm sorry.. I'm just flabbergasted at how many hints and clues I've dropped without you guys finding this. I mean.. SF found Yellowknife, middle of BFE frozen tundra and the Omsk Drama Theater.. wow.

              • Have you ever tried to reverse google a post. Without the exact perfect terms, it won't be found, like what happened to an earlier one of mine. This is good for the pic poster and bad for the pic finders.
Don't matter to me, no matter how frustrating it is, I'll find it eventually.

                • I know.. I suppose finding a place in a crowded country is actually more difficult than finding a place in the middle of Siberia.

Now that you have the painting and the date, you could look up a list of German painters and pretty much find it..

I see DC is here and he's from Hamburg.. and usually he's good at this..

I'm in the middle of doing just that.

Well, for that, I got a map of Canada and looked for cities next to water & googled them all. Such dedication

                        • Greifswald! But how on earth did you think that I should know?

Maybe because Sweden ruled that part of Germany a long time ago???

                          • Greifswald. The painting is "Wiesen bei Greifswald" bei Caspar David Friedrich.

                              • Not having heard of Friedrich, I Googled his name under Images and came up with a goodly no. of his paintings. Can't say they appeal to me, as I'm not keen on Romantische Kunst (which is possibly why I've never heard of him!). Hadn't heard of the town, either! Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise.
