  • Clever of you to pick an island with the same name as the internet standard computer language. Google gives us enough red herrings to eat for a lifetime this way. LOL

    • I've spent too long on this, must narrow it down some.
      Is it in West Java?

        • Bah!!!!! This one's impossible, for me.

This search reminds, of that one I posted for you guys, of that castle in Germany.
I have searched every city, that I can find the name of, in Java.

          • Clues coming up:

It is in Jakarta and the building is of Christian denomination.

            • Boy, that's really helpfull.
There are 3233 listings for Christian denominations and sects, in Yahoo. Not worth it, AFIK.

              • I doubt whether there are 3233 in a Muslim country, though. OK, it's Roman Catholic. Any better?

                • For all intensive purposes, I no longer wish to search for this impossible thing

                  What do you think?

Out of curiosity, have you tried searching for this building with google, knowing only what you've clued us too?

I suspect it can only be found with 1 exact match of search terms. That's what happened with the castle in Germany, I posted.

I really do have better things to do. LOL

                  • OK, mea culpa, I made it very difficult by choosing a site in Italian, to boot, as well as a minor catholic order! See

Notwithstanding, their convent is architecturally very impressive.

And, yes, I did find it originally by googling images with just jakarta as the keyword, in about the 30th page or so.

I offer a very easy one as a substitute. It is obviously a hotel, so I'm giving nothing away. My wife and I have stayed here many times. It was closed for rebuilding in December (nothing to do with the tsunami, so don't jump to conclusions as to the locality). I'd like the name of the place where it is located, please.

                      • Hotels here look very much like that...what you said would eliminate the islands down south, so how about Pattaya, or Hua Hin or Cha-Am? If not Thailand, then Malaysia would come to mind...

                          • It's the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort in Penang On a side-note, Penang would be worth a visit, no? Does it preserve a lot of its former colonial charm?
