You say Cameroon is very cold, but I can't stop thinking it must be in central Africa...OK, how about on Zanzibar Island? Alternatively, Tunisia?

Guess what? I'm embarrassed
The photo in question was downloaded with the name of the place and it appears that the name may be wrong. I looked at many other photos of the same place and none resemble it. In fact, the topography of the named place (Ouarzazate) is not mountainous. I would have thought that such striking rock formations would have been a tourist attraction, but I could not find them, using any of many keywords. I can conclude that shot was either photoshopped or is in some very out-of-the-way spot up in the Atlas mountains (I used Atlas as one of my original keywords). My humble apologies for having misled you. I suggest Nowhere takes over as having been the first to suggest Morocco, which is as near as I can be sure. Sorry!Brian (the devil incarnate)

OK, guess where/what
(BTW Brian, I've found something that was strikingly similar...but in much worse condition; one of the terms I provided shows it sooner or later in Google image search)
