Can't have been many young physicists in that 60, or the list might have been:

    Star Trek I
    Star Trek II
    .
    .
    .
    .
    Star Trek X.

    FT.

Id like to put soderburgh and tarantino in a locked room together, give each a knife, and tell them that whichever one kills the other first will be allowed to live..

.. and then blow away the survivor with a shotgun anyhow.

        What, no THX 1138?

Thats GOT to be the best movie George Lucas ever made.
And now its been digitally remastered, more people will get the oportunity to see it.
        A real masterpiece.
A SciFi romeo and juliet meets 1984 in Brazil.

I remember it being broadcast on the (at that time only) national channel years ago. Some scenes made me cry.

"2001: A Space Odyssey" should be mentioned in the Guinness world of records book as the most booring Sci-FI....

Reading the book will make you understand WTF is going on, still it will be boring, mind numbingly booring.....
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

I use to like NG and DS9 shows but most of the movies sucked and a few of them sucked, blew, swallowed and choked.

            No surpirse there.

I'm presuming that Wrath of Khan, Voyage Home, Undiscovered Country and First Contact make the cut?

2001 is not a movie; it's a medicine against insomnia
2010 was much better. At least that one had a story and no LSD-induced cinematography.

Now where's The 5th element, Avalon or eXistenZ on the list?

5th Element was very cool...so was eXistenZ, which had more plot twists than a Kerry position paper

                      Haven't seen Avalon yet.

if Matrix is on the list, then Back to the future should also be on

Never watched fail-safe, should watch it sometime before school starts... sounds interesting

Just make sure you get the old B&W movie with Henry Fonda and not the lame-o TV movie.
