  • Whewwww.....

    1. The stitches in my hand are finally out & things look good so far. Still lots of pain and in a few weeks some physical therapy will be in order, but much better than it's been all summer.

    2. I can finally TYPE with both hands

    3. For those medical types on MURC the labs report on the infection showed the following pathogens;

    Staphylococcus aureus

    Group A beta-hemolytic Streptococcus

    Group C beta-hemolytic Streptococcus

    Clostridium perfringens (low levels, but growing)

    Close fu*^#ng call.....

                  Ok...but I won't embed it out of deference to the squeemish. This is after the sutures were removed.

                  Yes, it's been that red. When it was first infected it swelled up to 2x normal size & the skin cracked and peeled off. This is new skin & still a bit raw.

                  The plastic surgeon has me wearing a pressure bandage (thick silicone pad under an elastic glove) that presses on the wound to reduce scar formation. Hurts like a sonofabitch.

                    Wow, your hand looks much better Doc

                    About the pressure bandage, anyone who had his/her teeth straightened probably suffered worse than that for a much longer time, so it isn't *that* bad compared with what you've been through with your hand and knee. Cheer up, you're already on the express way out of this story.

                      Yes, it does look better without that wide/deep hole in it. Had us going for a while, not to mention my feelings about the bacterial strains they found in there
