Apperently, some terroist used duct tape to "secure" a bomb. The tape failed, the bomb dropped and the hostages panicked.
When the hostages tried to run through the hole blown in the wall, the terroists opened fire upon the fleeing children.

The russian snipers outside (alongside some parents armed with guns) returned fire without recieving firing orders.
        Then everything went to hell.

Even I, with my 10 years as army sergent, would have returned fire on someone shooting fleeing children in the back. The Russian snipers where DARN good, btw - saw one shoot a terroist through the wall beneath the windowsill. Good use of a Dragonev rifle.

This was the worst way it could end - for the terroists. Its frightening to see through cynical eyes. But just like US needed its Pearl Habour, so the EU might need these dead innocent children.

This is just sick. I wonder if this will wake some of the rest of the world up about terrorrism. I haven't heard much about what kind of ties/links the terrorist group had... does it link to AQ? Was it a group of Muslim terrorists again?

            Edid because I can't spell.

Over their history, I'm sure fanatical Christians murdered a LOT more people than the few thousand that died on Sept. 11th or the few hundred that died here, but thats not an argument we should start. The problem is the fanatics, in any damn religion. Next thing you know, Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley will become fanatical Scientologists and start killing people.

This whole Russian incident is just horrible beyond description. What kind of human shoots a fleeing child, hell shooting a child PERIOD? How easy it would be to murder scum that do these things. Thats my dream job. I won't pray since I'm an aetheist, but I sure hope karma BURIES these motherf******.

I`ve been quiet for a while, but i have to say something on this topic...

I am truly, honestly, lost for words to describe my anger. Taking children hostages, SHOOTING them while they try to escape? This is BEYOND BELIEF! We`ve all been witnessess to truly horrible terrorist acts in the past decades, but nothing comes even close to this. How could they do this? What kind of a monster would you have to be to kill those children?

I am not a violent man by nature, but i can`t even imagine a death or torture painfull enough that those scumbags deserve. I really cannot. Even burning them alive on the Red Square, tearing them to pieces alive seems to mild a punishment for the monsters...

                    Unbelievable....

Welcome to how we've felt since 9/11 !!!!

As for any connection between the Chechen terrorists and AQ; this has been a known fact for some time.

When we invaded Afghanistan a large number of Chechens were found in the AQ training camps. Many more have been captured or killed fighting right next to known AQ camp graduates in Pakistan, Iraq, the Phillipines (working with members of Abu Sayyaf, the local "office" of AQ) and elsewhere.

In terms of how the world terrorists are getting help to the Chechens, this is where things get interesting. Both AQ and many others have been smuggling arms, personnel and material into Chechnya through the easiest point of access: over the Iranian border.

Now....if you think the Iranians aren't involved in all this I have a real big bridge for sale in Manhattan

The connection of Iran to other terrorists are by way the Muslim Brotherhood, Islamic Jihad movements around the middle east and of course their direct surrogates Hizbullah.

Press reports concerning the Jihad-Hizbullah-Iranian connection have been published since the early 90's. An interesting one was published in March 1995 in Al-Watan Al-Arabi, a weekly published in Paris. This report stated that Iran together with Hizbullah, Islamic Jihad, Hamas and other radical Islamic movements have been making special efforts to recruit young Muslims in Europe and to train them for suicidal terror attack missions.

Uppance: Iran is directly tied to most of the major terrorist movements in the middle east and indirectly tied to many other movements by way of their ties to the above mentioned Iranian surrogates.

The latest intelligence data from many sources indicates that Sa'ad Bin Laden (Osamas son) is being harbored in Tehran, and that he is now running Al Quaeda from there with the help of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, which solidifies the connection between what's going on in Iraq and the Iranians.

IMO these connections between Islamist terrorist groups all over the middle east and Asia just shows how important it is that this cancer has to be treated at the root: IRAN.

This becomes even more urgent in light of the Iranians stated goal to enrich their uranium stores and ramp up their centrifuge program; the only purposes of which is to mass produce nuclear weapons. That the UN nuclear regulatory agency is finally freaking out about the Iranian actions lends much validity to this outlook.

Hopefully the Russians will also get it and therefore may no longer thinking that the Chechen problem is theirs alone. Let's hope the French et. al. also have such a revalation and start coodinating with our efforts.

As US Senator Zell Miller (Democrat - Georgia) so aptly stated the other night in his speech to the Republican Convention: the lives of our families depend on this fight.

                          Just in case you're still not yet convinced of what Senator Miller said check out the first of these images of what happened inside of that school (not embedded for obvious reasons);

Now multiply the number of children in the first image by about 30 to see how many were actually killed in this terrorist attack. The second image is of a critically injured child. The third is of a mother mourning her dead baby. The rest speak for themselves.

These could be children in any school in the US, EU or anywhere else if these FU**ING animals have their way. Plans for such attacks were in the AQ handbook's found in the Afghan AQ training camps, so we know it was part of their standard training. These handbooks are also being used by the other terrorist organizations, so we can expect to see more of this.

                          Get it now?

                            Problem is proof.
                            Problem is evidence.

You cannot take any action without proof.
                            Hearsay is not proof.

Im afraid that all we can do is sit around and just "take it" as it comes.

Action based on hearsay is NOT doing anyone any good.
                            Its NOT building democracy.
Its NOT promoting a "christian" (for lack of better words) attitude towards your fellow humans.

                            Not doing anything CAN help.
Mr. Putin has been MORE helped by this terroist attack by doing nothing wrong, than what he and his fellows have done inside Tjetnia for the last decade.

Oh. And there is no easy solutions, no fast solutions either.
You cannot use force to correct errors that have been around for a millienum.
Only time, patience and prosperity can heal those wounds.

Violence can suppress them, sure. Thats what the USSR did to all these republics. But I for one REALLY doesnt want another totalitarian state like the USSR - not even at the price of schoolchildren.

Rather a life in fear and freedom, than a life in oppression. (I guess I sound alot like Bush now. Im sorry, thats purely incidental).

"For every action their is an opposite and equal reaction"

Separating the action from the reaction is where it gets tricky.

In physics non-animated, unconscious objects follow this law to the letter.

Human thinking is what usually mucks it up in the real world.

Here's to hoping the "usually" part doesn't come to pass in the terrorism war.
Perspective cannot be taught. It must be learned.
