House 2 houses down just caught on fire!

My dog was kind of whimpering at the back door. I go to let him in and notice my cat is also looking up at me at the back door. Usually they love being outside. I open the door to let them in and I get this overwhelming smell of smoke. I knew right away it was close. I looked up to my left and I see flames. I called 911 immediately but apparently they had already been called. They put out the fire in about 10-15 minutes. Damn, makes you realize how close something like this can change your life.

Scary.. the smoke can be at least as deadly as the fire. I've smelled fires from 8 blocks away where the smoke was stifling. I can see why they wanted in.

Don't know yet. But they do have the street blocked off now for about an hour.

Here is what it looked like when it was really smokey. I was starting to get nervous that the flames were gonna jump to the house you see in the foreground.

Everything is good here, just kind of made me think about how that could have been anyone of the dozens of houses around me, inlcuding mine
