Oddly enough, the first part of Hurricane season was rather dead. For the months of June, July, and most of August there were no tropical storms or hurricanes (in this region).

It has definitely shaped up to be an unusual and dangerous season.

Thats it, we have a Mad scientist with a Huricane making machine holed up somewhere
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

Well Normally at least in my recent memory there hasn't been much in the way of Hurrcianes in the June-August time frame on the east coast. September and October are prime time due to having the whole summer to warm up the oceans.

I know the North East is way over due for a strong storm...
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

Wash your mouth out young man! If Jeanne doesn't go as expected (see my earlier posting) it could very well end up going north. I mean heck we DID get Isabel last year.

I grew up in Jersey, and hurricane season was considered to start in August.

It did alot of damage in DC/MD/PA & Northern VA. We lost power for 7 days (in MD) and my parents up in PA had no power for 3 days. It wasn't pretty. DC and VA had alot of flooding and water damage.
