I think a weekend of camping and drinking in Brecon is definatley out of the question for now.

I think I need to have a major lifestyle change

    My daily routine consists of:

    0600 wake up
    0605 shower
    0620 coffee +/- cereal
    0700 drive to work
    0730 arive at work
    0800 begin shift

    1230 - 1530 maybe have lunch

    1730 - 1830 leave work
    +30mins arive home
    +30mins have tea
    +30mins relax

    2230 - 2300 bed

I think that I am going to have to have more structured meal times. I frequently only have an evening meal and occasionally I am too tired to eat that.

There is pleanty of time in the morning to do some exercise before work.

Essentially I have an hour from waking up to shower eat and do some exercise. Can anyone suggest how I can alter my daily routine to include more exercise.

I have just done a few exercises now and I can't believe how awake and full of energy I feel

I've had an idea.. It is a bit sad, but it may give me the encouragement and motivation i need. Would it be possible to keep an online dairy? I am not doing this to loose weight and I don't want to do any 'diets'. I am talking about getting my arse around the block a few times and eating properly.

Perhaps (If sasq doesn't mind) I can start a thread which will have my weight and whatever I have done that day/week or whatever. I have seen it done before in a forum and everyone rallied around to offer support and advice. It worked really well and the guy seemed to be really motivated by the support the forum offered.

Do we have any dietician/gym buffs here?

I should be able to do this on my own I know... but I dunno... what do you think?

I say you get yourself motivated or I'll come and sit on you!

Seriously though, good luck getting sorted. You'll get plenty of encouragement from me

I guess I'll need to set an objective. Something that is easily measurable... On my scales I weigh: 13st 3.5lb (84kg). Being 5ft 7 1/2 that makes me have rough body fat of 25%.

If I loose 10kg then that will take me to 11 1/2 stone which would be ideal for my height. I am not setting a time limit to achieve this in. As long as the trend is in the right direction then that is good enough for me... what do you think?

OK, I have NO clue, not even with what Dr. M. explained, BUT: I wish you well and let us know how you are progressing with a.o. losing 10K.

I don't know about diet/exercise experts, but I do as little strenuous exercise as possible, to ensure the batteries of my pacemaker last as long as possible

how far is it to work?
any possibility of walking or cycling & yes I know the cold & wet weather will soon be here.
another idea would be to have a packed lunch from home instead of eating canteen food. may well decrease your calorie intake in a painless way but probably at the expense of socialising at lunchtime.

I now live in the valleys of south wales. It's just under 15miles to work but it's very bumpy!

I will be taking a packed luch as it is the only way I can ensure that I will eat one!

                  Cheers for the support lads!

I take a packed lunch now...if nothing else it saves me a fortune! The trick is not to pick at it before lunch time.

Sorry to hear about your biliary troubles. Right now I am struggling to keep my weight below 16st (currently 104kg) which is not good for my DM at all. Gaining weight since Hurricane Ivan's visit last week, no electricity at home. Just got back internet at the Hospital. At least when I was in Blackpool I was playing football twice a week so I was down to less than 15st. (95 kg, 210 lb) Now I am sedentary and suffering from Paediatric Ward chest.

I don't really know what it's like to be sick and in the hospital cause my major health problems ocured when I was a few months old (and nearly died apparently) and I've been pretty healthy since, but I can imagine that it sucks, real bad. Hope Wong's bed helps you heal real quick.

P.S: My other message kinda sucked, wanted to say soemthing better instead.

P.P.S: May the Wong be with you.
