I like it. I think within its themed context the style is very fitting. I think the design is much more appropriate than yet another rectangular steel + grey concrete building. It's a native American museum, not an HQ of a retail conglomerate.

I guess it's just a matter of familiarity maybe? I actually had to do a doubletake. when the page was loading I wasn't paying attention and the first thing that hit my brain was why is Doc posting a thread about the Guggenheim? heh

In the middle of an office park in downtown Houston or Franfurt I bet it'd be an eye sore, but given the nature of the museum I think it looks great.

It reminds me of a lot of work done out here by Elizabeth Wright Ingrahm.
Yes I drive a 13yr old Volkswagen; Yes I'm a dirt poor college student; Yes every tank of gas is more $$ than the value of my car, but it is FUN to drive, so I don't care about your ego or how much your car cost, if you insist on going the exact same speed in the passing lane as the car next to you for 10 minutes, stop being a self righteous ass, move the hell over and just let me by!!!

Interesting syle, but isn't it just a waste to have the top large part hanging so far out?

It would serve an excellent purpose if this was a fortress and there were murder holes cut into that prominence!

I have worked on the design phase of many projects. Parks, amphitheaters, public gardens, sports complexes, etc. I have worked with some of the top local artisans in architecture, landscape and art designs.

All I can say is WOW THAT IS ASS UGLY!!.
I see no resemblance to any mesa or cliff dwelling I've seen in CO, NM, AZ, UT or WY.
I see nothing that makes me think 'Native American'.
I see nothing aesthetically pleasing about that structure at all.
I was dog-sitting my sis's labrador last week, and he left a pile on the rug with more thought to design.

p.s. I don't really care for it too much

to me, it looks like a huge giant is stuck upside down in the ground iwth his foot and slipper sticking out.

I know, I had to really reach for that one. But then again, it look nothing like anything Indian.

Looks like nothing I have seen here in Utah,...(or anywhere else, thank goodness)
