One could forgive GL for wanting to prettify Star
Wars a little, but something occurred to me that I hadn't noticed before.

In the Mos Eisly sequence, They now have all of these huge draft animals stomping around. They are probably herbivores, since carnivores are too difficult to domesticate as draft animals.

Problem one is, Herbivores that size need a LOT of food to keep running. Tatooine is a desert planet with barely enough vegitation to stock a medium-sized supermarket. So what do all those big animals eat? Desert animals on Earth tend to be small and compact for that and another reason which brings us to problem two. Tatooine is covered pole to pole with burning desert. Large animals in that environment would die quickly of heat prostration. There's barely enough water on the planet to support the resident tool-using population. Could they afford the luxury of keeping big pets?

If they imported the animals, then they would have to import the food and water for them. Why go to that expense when you have all that marvelous technology to build vehicles to navigate the environment instead of extremely-high-maintainance animals?

One then supposes that such draft animals are status symbols for the very wealthy. But you wouldn't get that impression from the riders.

Gene Roddenberry would never have made these mistakes in the original Star Trek!

I'm watching the starwars dvd and the reports of the screwed up soundtrack is true

it sounds like it was recorded on a tape recorder with one of those "dolby c" buttons and someone is pressing and unpressing the button all the time
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.
