Oh come on, that's ridiculous. "We need to send a clear message to the public that there is no harmless mischief when it comes to airplanes" - next time a terrorist may use a ship, Ã_ la Speed 2, and they'll say "there is no harmless mischief when it comes to ships".

Not terroist, but still bloody stupid. He deserves a stint in jail, he knew it was powerfull enough to damage eyes but he was still shining it around in public, defeintely criminal negligence or somehting

not surprising at all a couple of canadian coast guards flying a helicopter off BC coast were tailing a Russian ship and became dazzled by a laser burst from the ship they also had retinal problems afterwards
