DINNER !!
Here in the US there are states that now recommend just HITTING deer that get in the road.
Seems that way too many people were getting killed or seriously injured when cars veered into the opposing lane to avoid them & ended up in head-on collisions.
It's not like there's a shortage of deer in the US since most states in their range have populations of 2-5 million each plus does typically have twins each breeding season. Even with large scale hunting seasons the population just keeps growing.

Yea, deer overpopulation is a big problem here in Colorado.
I drive 60 miles in and out of the mountains every day, and see dead deer at the roadside at least twice a week.
Unfortunatly, the tree-huggers can't seem to grasp the idea of population control for these animals, and each year permits are reduced or restricted, leaving more of these animals to get mowed down on the road or to die from grange or starvation.Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

If you can't see a friggin' deer in the road you shouldn't be driving If you hit a deer and think it was a stone you also shouldn't be drivingWhen you own your own business you only have to work half a day. You can do anything you want with the other twelve hours.

Sure I can understand you not seeing it before it's jumped in front of you, but I expect you did see it after it had jumped in front of you And if you had the misfortune to actually hit it I would expect you would know what it was you had hit. When you own your own business you only have to work half a day. Yeah, if I hit something that made that much noise I'd pull over to check for damage at the first convienent location, I wouldn't just ignore it and drive one. Plus I'd look in the rear-view mirror to see what it was, and if I didn't see anything I'd damn well pull over to be sure I wasn't dragging something... once I saw a car driving on the freeway with a entire WHEEL stuck under the front bumper, sparks flying everywhere.

That deer was pretty small, maybe 30 lbs or so (~13 kg) and could easily be dragged without the driver knowing.
This kind of thing would be very unlikely with Michigan Whitetail deer. I've dragged quite a few 200-250 pounders out of our woods....and I doubt a driver would miss that
