  • I stopped a roberry

    Here’s what happened…

Yesterday I was sitting in my home office editing around 1:30am when I heard crackling noises coming from my neighbor next door, I thought that was weird to hear such noises at this time of night, so I went to the room that faces the street and saw a suspicious looking guy with a flashlight moving from one car to another rather quickly, moments later I saw a guy in a Subaru wagon (Impreza or outback) driving up the street and back down again as if he is checking out the area.

I then spotted the same car driving with the headlights lights off, which is again odd.. what about the day time running headlights I said? Anyway I knew something was going on so I called the cops, and I kid you not 3 minutes later, cops show up and from what the officer said, that apparently they did break the glass on one of the vehicles down the street and they caught the guys with the stolen items!!!

So I feel good that I managed to stop a crime in our street, but I had to stay up until 3 in the morning giving a statement to the police.

    What a night!!!!!!!!

    Way to go....

Reminds me of the time 3 kids were breaking into our neighbors house.

Little did they know they'd be staring into the barrels of a 10 guage magnum shotgun when they came back out

Got to admit strange nosies from next door wouldn't arouse suspicion.

Car driving up and down like you said would.

Ringing police here would be a waste of time. They wouldn't turn up til well after the advent if at all. Even if an arson took place.

            Well done Elie

I live in a nice little sh*t hole in Reading called the Oxford Road. If I want a Traffic Warden or pizza delivery quickly, no problems, police, you've got to be joking.

                          Not here.

I had 'em on the ground when the cops arrived. The Sgt. walked up and asked me if I needed more time & if so he'd leave for a few and clean up the mess later

Of course the whole conversation was for the kids "benefit"

Seems to me there were some brown stains on the grass after they left....

In this country they'd sticking two fingers up at you at sueing you for mental injuries.

edit I forgot you still had the shotgun so you'd be still going down plus being sued.
