That was an actual call I got this morning except for the *puff puff joint cough cough riiiiiiiiiiight* part.

I had no idea what to tell him and the only logical explanation I could come up with is that he had smoked some good shit. I mean, what are you supposed to tell someone in this case? One day your computer and your internet is working exactly as it should and the next day it's ludicrously fast... ??

      • HAHA, no doubt. Tell him his computer was hit with a power surge and it caused it to overclock itself and the modem for a short time.

        • Just tell him that a ghost virus caused his computer to create a 43 cochrane field and that he should splash some holy water on the CPU.

          It's what I would do.

Easy explanation....ask client if the networking cable was moved, even a fraction of an inch. When client says yes, you say...that explains your speedup. One of the zeroes in the cable was probably misaligned...but now all the 0's and 1's are in perfect alignment, causing the massive increase in speed. Tell client to not touch the networking cable now. Go on and say, sometimes the 1's going thru the cable falls down and slows down the network.
