My father was shot at point blank range in the mouth like that when he was 12 in a hunting "accident"
The other kid was goofing around and thought the gun had not been loaded yet.
It was a 22 rifle. And hit direcly at the crossroads of his four front teeth.
I saw the plaster cast they made for his caps.
It looked like someone had taken a paper punch to his teeth.
Put the jaws of the cast together and it made a round hole at the center.
The bullet fragmented and loged mostly in his tongue with one large fragment hitting the back of his throat.
Some of the fragments are still in his tongue
He was very lucky
His being 12, think how lucky I have always felt.
