  • Wow, I am bummed :(

One of my favorite Guitarists ever, Dimebag Darrell (yes it is dimebag) and possibly his brother Vinnie Paul (the drummer) were shot and killed tonight 5 minutes into playing their show

Most of you probably don't know who they are. They are ex-Pantera members. One of the most influential metal bands of the 90's and you could argue that they were one of the best metal bands of all time.

    RIP Vinnie and Darrell
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

          Yeah, I did.

Metal isn't exactly the kind of music that is plastered across MTV all the time. I look back and think of the times all of the rap stars died such as Tupac. It was a huge deal, everyone knew about it.

I'd say 25% of those people know about Dime. This is unfortuante because he was truly a great person and killer musician. He deserves a lot of respect and I want people to know about this so he gets that respect.

I believe that as time goes on, people will realize how much of a talented musician he was and he will be amongst the best. Even though people in the metal community already know it.

In the end, he was a huge influence on me through out my late teens up until this very moment.

I guess I needed to talk about it more. I'm actually amazed on how much this has affected me. Maybe it was the shock of the tragedy? I now understand how people felt when Tupac died. Yet another lesson learned in life.

what's it with the marine corps and mass murderers?? Apparently this guy was booted out before his 2nd year of a normally 4 yr stint. I guess that says everything when they won't even send him to Iraq... (I hope you dont think this is OT but it's pertinent to this thread)

This is the best article I've read about him.

MTV brings viewers the best in lifestyle and competition reality shows, plus live events featuring the biggest names in entertainment.
