  • Need help arranging delivery

    Hi Guys,

I want to buy one of these: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...tchen&n=507846.

The trouble is that Amazon won't ship it to Canada.

Dyson doesn't have a Canadian presence yet so I have two options: 1) drive to the States and pick one up; or 2) ship it to someone in the States and have them courier it to me.

Is anyone willing to help me with the second option?

I'd of course cover all the costs. I'd pay amazon with a credit card and whomever receives it could use my company's fedex account to ship it to me at no cost to themselves. All he'd be out is whatever time he spends to arrange the shipment. But what's that compared to my cleaning lady's undying appreciation?
    P.S. You've been Spanked!

If you don't mind shipping it to Utah, I would be happy to ship it to you. We have a fedex pickup here at work.

Bah! If you've got a cleaning lady, then who cares!
Give her a short skirt and a dustpan & brush!

        Thanks Byock.

If anyone who's willing to help is closer to the border, specifically, to Toronto, let me know.

        Otherwise, it's going via Utah!
        P.S. You've been Spanked!

you could have it shipped to the Buffalo Fedex terminal and just drive there to pick it up. (hour and a half)
Have some wings and a pint while you're there!

I wouldnt get the Dyson Animal. The only thing your getting over the cheaper model is an extra attachment and some stuff to use on your rug. I went with the cheaper one and I'm very happy with it. Should come in handy with the 4 cats and a pug that sheds like crazy that I have living at my place

I know I'm kind of getting more than I need but it's not something easily exchanged. I'd rather go overboard than wonder "what if?".

@gt40, an hour and a half? from Toronto? Maybe from "New Berlin". But not from Toronto. Plus that's only one way. It's another "hour and a half" to get back. The wings aren't that good!

it's only fair to warn you that the consumer magazine Which (here in the UK) suggest that reliablity isn't that model's strong point.

You must be pretty deep in T.O. then if you can't make it to Buffalo Airport in less than an hour and a half.

All those people I know with a Dyson have made good use of the warranty system - don't skimp on that if there is an option, and if it will apply in Deepest Toronto!

I gather he's recently moved his manufacturing to China too.

Well you guys have got me thinking now. I've read on Amazon that they are very reliable. I'm expecting to lose the warranty by shipping it across borders. Hmm....

My cleaning lady is a 50 year old Chilliean mother of three. I'd pay her not to wear a short skirt!

Buffalo Airport? You mean I should fly? How would I bring the vacuum back? I'd have to stow it. It would be demolished for sure!
