Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Wolfgang Mozart as the latest sheet music. Disks hadn't been invented and Edison was just starting to foo around with tinfoil-coated cylinders.

Found a sound clip on TowerRecords.com
Lonnie Donegan was the king of a UK pop style called skiffle in the mid 1950s. The instruments were a corrugated washboard with metal thimbles and a plywood tea chest with a broom handle and a length of string between the two, acting as a bass.

See below for a tea chest bass

                                The Number 1 single was:
                                Nena - "99 Red Balloons"

                                The Number 1 album was:
Thompson Twins - "Into The Gap"

                                Born on 3rd Mar:
                                1942 - Mike Pender ( The Searchers )

Hihi, the no.1 single is also one of my all-time favorite songs...never listened to the Thompson Twins before, though.

Just for fun, I queried 9 months before that, The Police's "Every breath you take" was the number one when I was put into production
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
