Hmm where I live only got 3-6 inches of snow in the Storm of the Century

We've gotten alot worse storms snowfall wise the past two Winters then that storm

But then again he is going to CT
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

So what is the long range forecast for Vermont now?

We have about 1" here atm, but I don't think it will last very long. Even that doubled my journey time to work this morning!

We've gotten about 6 inches in the last couple of days.

You can try Weather Underground for more information.

It's really unlikely that a weather forecast will be of any use to you, unless you're already at JFK, and you have picked up your rental car.

Thanks Steve. Is this a time of year where you would normally expect any snow to stick around for a while and be useful for winter sports? Looking at Weather Underground and weather.com it looks quite marginal!

I don't want to go downhill skiing, but riding on tubes and skidoos (sp?) are high on the list!

There should be plenty of that available.
I'm in the northern part of the state, near Lake Champlain, and we have about 1-1/2 to 2 feet on the ground.

(I suppose it's time to shovel the driveway)

I think Southern Vermont often has more snow than we do...

The trip was great thanks. Diet? I remember that...back to it now I guess
There were no steaks, only whole cows

First we stayed in my cousin's appt. in Stamford, CT, which was great. They have a consierge, communal facilities included an IT suite, gym, billiards room, lounge area and an outdoor pool (not used by us...I thought the ice looked too thick to break!).

We visited NYC for 1/2 day but it was bloody freezing and we were dead on our feet so didn't do much. Retail IT prices were no better than online here so I didn't bring anything back.

The hire car was a Chevvy Trail Blazer, about 200 feet long, 20 feet wide and 7 storys tall Did roughly 20 mpg, but at <$2/gallon, who cares?

Vermont was covered in snow, hotel gorgeous, 'tubing' was great fun until I tried an unscheduled aerial manoeuvre and the wedding was very nice. We were introduced to about 100 Americans (now mostly distant relatives), who all said 'Ah, the English couple'. We didn't use our balcony, or have time to make up the fire in the room, but fortunately the whirlpool was in the bathroom (might have been on the balcony depending on how you read the website) and that was great!

The last 24 hours were spent in Greenwich, CT. We gave a lift (from Vermont to near there) to an 83 year old woman who turned out to be hillarious (and batty) and stinking rich! I think wifey took her fancy! On the last day she rang up to see if we were going into NYC. When we said we weren't she told us all to go out for a really expensive meal and send her the bill! So we did of course

The entertainment on the planes is fantastic now. Each seat has a 9" screen and a controller that is also a phone and CC swipe. There are 52 movies on demand with pause etc, 52 CDs, radio stations, TV shows, games, messaging etc etc etc. Mine broke so they lent me a portable DVD player.

So, apart from the bills yet to arrive, youngest kid being sick yesterday and 260 emails to deal with, it was a good break! Even the planes were on time.
                      FT.
