Pink Floyd

I know there are a few Pink lovers (ooh-er missus!) on MURC, so I was wondering - when you think of Pink Floyd, do songs most heacvily influenced by Barrett, Waters, Gilmour or songs from the Wish You Were Here, DSOM era (which IMHO is a more "balanced" sound in terms of who in the band is influencing things - not necessarily a good thing!)? Or wot?

Sorry about this - I just fancied an excuse to go digging out all my albums again , that's all, and it got me thinking. Personaly I'm a Roger Waters man, but that really does depend on the mood. I love some of the Barrett era stuff, and some of the middle stuff as well.

And what's your favourite track? (can include post-PF stuff from SB or RW). I love "Echoes" from Meddle, but again, it depends on the mood...

If I had to pick a favorite, it'd also have to be "Echoes," but as you said, it really depends on the mood. I also tend to take the albums as a whole listening experience rather than on a per song basis.

IMHO all the best tracks have Waters lyrics and Gilmour's tunes

I'm about 2/3rds through Nick Mason's book, Inside out, and a very good read it is too

Roger Waters.

Ever since I really listened to "The Final Cut", I can't ever imagine a better Pink Floyd Album.

No one kills the children anymore....

I think my favourite album would be a toss up between Animals and Wish You Were Here.

As for songs, Echoes is certainly right up there, along with Run Like Hell, Have A Cigar, Astronomy Domine, etc.

"Interstellar Overdrive" was the song that first exposed me to Pink ... quite a departure from my classical music. I remember hunting down "Atom Heart Mother" at a local shop as one of my first record albums. I've rarely seen that album since (still have mine along with the others). I'm a pre-Dark Side fan but I do still enjoy their later work.

mostly a waters fan.. though when they where all together (mason, right, waters, gilmor) some very great things where hapening... favourit albom DSOTM... (although i tend to lean sometimes towards atome hart mother) first few albums (IMO) where like they where making fun of the beatels in a way.. fav songs.. Julia dreams, Dogs, Echos, Astronemy Domineh... .... well there are so many good songs and like you guys already said... it depends on the mood... tripiest; a bunch of fury litle animals groving in a cave with a pickt... .... love floyd

Which is funny as it's the least Pink Floyd album In reality it's more of a Roger Waters solo album with the rest acting like session musicians
